14 Things I Love

Today is Valentine’s Day. Accordingly, here is a list of fourteen things I absolutely love and adore.

1). Snow. I love watching the world blanket in snow as I stare out the window and enjoy a cozy day at home. For me, there is an excitement that arrives with each snowflake and howls in the most vicious of blizzards. The entire Earth softens in noise and everything just seems perfect.

2). Nighttime. I like when my days are dotted in stars. I thrive off of the feelings that night brings, which, for me, is the possibility that any wish and dream can come true. That any goal will always be both reachable and attainable. And stars can make anything beautiful.

3). Popcorn. It is my favorite snack and I don’t need to be at a movie theater or watching a film to enjoy the salty, buttery treat. I end all my days with a bowl of popcorn. The nights are few and far between in which I don’t munch on this snack. In fact, I would be more than satisfied if popcorn was my daily dinner.

4). Photography. I enjoy capturing my own snapshots as well as admiring impressive images. I believe that there is always at least one moment everyday that is worth photographing. You just have to find it.

5). Museums. Spending an entire day at a museum is one of the best ways to spend any day. Art museums are my favorite types, but science ones can be just as interesting and fun to meander through. One museum I want to visit is the Newseum in Washington D.C.

6). Iced Coffee. I drink coffee all year round and always sip it with ice, no matter how deep into winter it is. There is something about an iced coffee that multiplies in taste for me. Oh! And it always has to be mixed with milk! And all Starbucks Frappuccinos are always a hit!

7). Fashion. I love shopping and finding new styles and outfits to wear. I look forward to selecting out my clothes for the next day. I definitely have a distinct sense of style. I like to wear pieces that are cute, fun, and scream in confidence. Aside from wearing fashion, I am also an avid watcher of Project Runway and a social media follower of many fashion brands and industries.

8). Books. One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to read more. Hopefully, with a balance of college and work, I will be able to accomplish at least one book a month. Compared to previous years in which I have hardly finished an entire novel, this will definitely be a well achieved goal come December. I love reading and it is a very relaxing way to end the day. Going to the bookstore to find new books is also a fun, exciting time.

9). Cilantro. An odd food, or herb, to enjoy, but it’s pungent and powerful taste is a delicious topping to any salad. It’s a perfect greenery mix to arugula, spinach, and lettuce leaves. While many find the taste off-putting, it is an acquired flavor that I believe should be given a chance.

10). Brush strokes. It’s a mesmerizing experience to see the direction, angle, and texture of a painting’s brush strokes. Art museums are the best places to see the ways paint was moved across a canvas.

11). Chocolate. Chocolate and other sugary treats are anyone’s weakness. M&Ms, Almond Joy, Hershey Kisses, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Kit-Kats are my favorite kinds of chocolate. Plus Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, Butter Fingers, Pay Day… The list continues, as you can see.

12). Coconut. Coconut is one of my favorite flavors, especially when it comes to ice cream. Strands and slivers of coconut adds a subtle yet noticeable taste with a bit of texture and light crunch.

13). Blankets. Blankets can make any space more comfy and can turn any cold body warm again. I love the warmth a blanket can offer as well as provide a pop of pattern and color to a living room, bedroom, etc.

14). Ferris Wheels. Roller coasters that are speedy with a lot of loops and drops are not my amusement park preference. Rather, ferris wheels are more my speed. I like the slow lifting and dropping as the whole park comes into full view.
