Circular speakers
Large like moons
Glowing in the night,
Silent shimmers by
Pillow case.
Like a warm mouth
In my ear
Verse and chorus
Ring and remain,
Just sitting there.
Static buzzes
And I imagine something
Interstellar.
Turning knobs
Skittering past numbers,
Favorites always ended in
Nines and fives.
New music flung itself
Across my mind,
Illuminating the backs
Of my eyes
And igniting a stream
Of stories untold,
The pronouns referred to
Characters I’d soon know
By heart.
