National Poetry Writing Month: Day 21 – Coral Reefs

I want to
Pack the night
Beneath my fingernails
Like sand,
So when I bite them
I can taste the
Navy hours,
Feeling textured memories
Against my tongue.
It’s nights like these
I never want to
End.
Dripping away as
Sunrises like coral reefs
Manifest and unfold.
