Fall: A Poem

Fall
Used to be kinder
Before you came along.

The leaves used to
Speak to me
And the evenings
Were smeared in roasted
Hues, the kind you could
Stare at for mesmerizing minutes.

Fall
Used to be kinder
Before you came along.

Now
The howling wind
Sounds like insults
Pelting my eardrums.

Fall
Used to be kinder
Before you came along.
