6:00pm: A Poem

I find myself wishing
For November’s 6pm light,
Dimming fast and enveloping
Every atom into the night.
Envious of dark spaces –
Silhouettes intriguing,
I count them as I drive past.
The few hours before
And after midnight
Are redundant comfort
And sometimes it can’t come
Soon enough.
